The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency is working with a team at the University of Oklahoma to develop the Oklahoma Housing Needs Assessment. The primary goal of the assessment is to create a tool to estimate the need for affordable housing in Oklahoma. The team envisions an interactive web portal that documents affordable housing needs across the entire state, to support investments in affordable housing. the project will attempt to explain how much housing is needed, what kind of homes are needed, and where is the housing needed.
This tool will be useful for policymakers, public agencies, developers, finance entities, analysts, local planners, and others involved in producing or operating affordable housing. The study defines affordable housing at or below 120% of the HUD adjusted median household income.
The most recent statewide housing assessment was completed in 2015, and can be accessed here.
