2:00 – 6:00 PM: Project Exhibits
Walk-ins are welcome to view and comment on the work that has been done by the design team so far. Topics include parking, survey results, streetscape plans, and key concepts like walkability and “lost space.”
2:00 – 6:00 PM: Activity Stations
Walk-ins are welcome to participate in activities that will help generate a discussion for how Western Avenue should move forward. Topics will include handling the transition from commercial to residential neighborhoods, future development types for Western Avenue and adjacent blocks, and a streetscape and placemaking proposal.
6:00 – 6:45 PM: Presentation
This presentation will give an overview of the project and its upcoming recommendations.
6:45 – 7:45 PM: Breakout Session
Small groups will provide comments on streetscaping, brainstorm specific street elements that should be included in each block, imagine development opportunities, and consider potential neighborhood conflicts.
7:45 – 8:00 PM: Wrap-up
We will briefly summarize how the day’s activities have impacted the study and the ideas that have been generated.
